This style of massage works to release held tension and dissolve body armoring. It delivers a sense of fluidity and sensitivity that often creates a deeply relaxing experience. Massage strokes go from the center to the periphery and we work from head to toe. We hold space for tension and holding patterns to release. We work with the breath in a variety of approaches to assist the release of tension and opening the body. Many of the strokes will overlap joints and corresponding body parts to create a feeling of integration in the body as a whole as well as to release tension stored in the joints.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Spinal Reflex Therapy

This technique is often used to ‘warm up’ the tissue before a deeper massage but has many benefits as a stand-alone treatment. Without using oils or lotions, the superficial layers of tissue are gently stretched to release adhesions (areas where the tissue has become stuck together). 90% of the body’s pain receptors are situated in the facial layer. Therefore, myofascial release has amazing pain relief benefits.
Using varying amounts of pressure, areas of scar tissue and trigger points are identified and released to balance muscle tone in the affected area. This restores circulation allowing the flow of healing nutrients to the injury site, which decreases pain and increases range of motion.
Strain / Counter Strain
This technique is used to restore normal muscle length and function by resetting neuromuscular patterns that are causing pain, misalignment, and dysfunction. This technique requires good communication as you’ll help me identify tender points. We’ll isolate the tender point in the muscle and passively shorten the muscle to the point of no sensation. Then I hold that for 60 to 90 seconds while you relax and focus on your breath. The intention is for the muscle to return to its healthy resting length and the pain pattern will be released and reset.
This type of therapy is aimed at realigning all the water molecules within your body to their optimal position. Think of a water molecule as having a negatively and positively charged end. With the use of the practitioner’s hands placed on specific areas of the body, the hands act as magnets that form a circuit with your body. This electromagnetic circuit gets the water molecules to line up (negative end connects to positive end) throughout your entire body. When the water within you is lined up in a way that allows energy to flow with ease it can create a very deep and lasting state of balance and harmony in your whole system.
